"The Monk Batucada Quarteto is a psychedelic samba group with members from Brazil and Boston. The project came about when Gasoline Monk (Brandon Armstrong), the band’s producer and sampler/synth player from Boston, traveled to Brazil to record percussion with drummer Thiago Praciano. In Brazil he went to see Praciano play with The Paulo Neves Trio, and after the concert he hired the whole band on the spot."
